
Apple Unveils New Features in Upcoming iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 Updates
Today, Apple showcased a range of new features integrated into the upcoming iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 updates, including the eye tracking feature for iPads and iPhones.
Apple is preparing to release the iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 updates for iPhones and iPads later this year, which include a new set of accessibility features.
The eye tracking feature is one of the top features in the upcoming updates, and it is expected to be rolled out to iPads and iPhones as well, supporting users in controlling their devices with eye movements.

Details reveal that this feature aims to support users with physical disabilities, allowing them to control the screen and perform actions in the system smoothly.
Furthermore, the eye tracking feature will be AI-driven, starting with a calibration process using the front camera that takes a few seconds, and user data will be limited to the device, relying on machine learning technology in the device.
Users will not need any additional accessories to use this technology, and the eye tracking feature will work with all applications.
Details also indicate that the eye tracking feature will enable users to navigate between app elements and use a technology to access each app element by focusing with the eye.

The “Taptic” engine in iPhones will also later handle clicks, adjusting vibrations to the music the user is listening to, with the feature initially supporting Apple Music only.
Apple will provide a software interface for developers to support music interaction with applications. Apple also announced the “Vehicle Motion Cues” feature aimed at supporting users while using iPhones or iPads in moving vehicles by placing movable points on the screen edges to adjust motion changes balance with the device screen to reduce dizziness resulting from device use during motion.
