Apple Launches New M4 Chip for iPad Pro Devices
Today, Apple unveiled the new M4 chip that supports the latest versions of iPad Pro devices, based on a 3-nanometer manufacturing process from the second generation, with a special focus on enhancing artificial intelligence tasks.
The new Apple M4 chip includes a new display engine, developed with cutting-edge technology. The processor offers stronger and faster performance in the new Pro devices, as well as featuring the new generation of graphics card architecture introduced in the M3 chip.
The processor features 4 performance cores and 6 efficiency cores to enhance performance, offering 50% faster performance compared to the M2 chip. The M4 chip also supports ray tracing technology introduced for the first time in iPad devices.
The chip enhances the frame rate in devices by 4 times compared to the M2 chip, and includes a new neural engine for artificial intelligence technology aimed at enhancing the processing performance of artificial intelligence tasks.
The NPU unit inside the processor supports processing operations up to 38 trillion operations per second, which is 60 times faster than the first neural engine in the A11 Bionic chip.
Additionally, the chip supports better performance levels comparable to new computer devices with 25% less power consumption.
